I love that you went into the science of the signal-to-noise ratio. That's fascinating - and also validating! I really don't understand the need to sit there and stare at someone's glitching little face on a screen in order to have a conversation when it's much more effective to just use your phone like a phone. Spares you the irritation of poor sound quality and would spare the rest of us having to hear your struggle lol
Well, this was an interesting read. The diagrams made the physics much easier to visualise, which I appreciate. I'm not sure I'd agree with every conclusion, but it definitely got me thinking about how some mobile phone features are great in private but become everyone else's unwanted business in public. Loudspeaker calls and people blasting music... top of my list! 😂
It's not so much that I disagree. It's more what I found myself asking/thinking.... No one is consciously thinking about the maths when they hold a phone (i'm not anyway, but I might now lol) they're simply using it as it was designed. The maths explains why the sound behaves as it does, not the human behaviour and the anti social / social norms side of it... I guess that could be another piece :)
